Green buildings often have unhealthy interiors designed to minimise energy consumption and not the well being of the biological occupants – whether human, animal or plant. The Building Biology movement has been working to change that with over 6000 people, architects, doctors, surveyors, material suppliers, etc. trained to create interiors which promote life within the built environment.
Germany’s Building Biologists have issued an important update to the SBM 2008 standards – now called SBM 2015.
These are the Green Building Standards SBM 2015. The English version of the standard has not been published yet, we will update you with analysis of the chnages and also the English version by email if you subscribe to our website (also a free ebook on how to reduce electromagnetic pollution).
This standard defines recommendations for how to measure how green the interior of your building is for human, animal and plant biology – so how healthy your house is to live in rather than the narrow usual definition of green building standards which look at how much energy the building consumes.
